PRODUCER: Born as a retailer in 1928 in the Veneto region for sales of wines in casks and demi-johns to restaurants and small retailers. Botter is now run by the third generation and from their roots in Veneto they now have a portfolio of wines produced in some of Italy’s finest regions. Botter pride themselves on their focus of sustainability, going beyond reducing emissions, production of waste and non-renewable energy usage and taking a responsible approach for the whole production chain.

TASTING NOTE: Intense purple in colour with intense aromas of blackberries and cherries. The palate is round and rich with notes of ripe berry fruit, sweet black cherries and a hint of herbaceous notes. 24 months ageing, at least 9 of which in wooden casks, result in a touch of liquorice and a distinctive spicy character. Rich tannins support the palate which has a long and fruity finish. Age in bottle allows the wine to open further for more complexity and suppleness.
